You’ve undoubtedly been very busy with all the final preparations over the past few months. You may well still be feeling fantastic, but it’s also perfectly possible that your pregnant belly is now increasingly getting in the way. It’s definitely time to give yourself a little extra TLC at the start of this third trimester. Plenty of rest, a massage or two and obviously with some lovely maternity fashion, which you’ll also be able to use as nursing clothing once you've given birth. So what are we going to be providing you with in this blog?

  1. What maternity clothing is best for those final weeks?;

What are the advantages of nursing clothes?

The main reason for maternity clothing is to give your belly as much room as it needs during your pregnancy, but nursing clothing combines this with a handy design which will also allow you to discretely breastfeed your baby. There are various different types of clothing: some have double layers, which you can simply move up or sideways and other items may feature a hidden zip. It really depends on your own personal preferences. Try to do most of your shopping for this type of clothing during the third trimester, as this will fully prepare you for your maternity period.

Putting together some nice outfits now will be much better than in a few months’ time, when you’ll be so tired after a few restless nights that you’ll no longer know which skirt goes well with which top. Just kidding, of course … Also recommended: nursing bras. These are already lovely to wear now, as your breasts have changed so much. The wider cups will give your breasts all the space they need.

Tip: we have seamless bras too!

Get your overnight bag ready this third trimester!

Of course you don’t know exactly when that little one of yours is going to make an appearance, but it’s definitely a good idea - and absolutely essential! – to get your overnight bag ready for the hospital. You’ll still need to prepare one if you’re planning on a home birth too, just in case you end up having to go to hospital after all. What you want to wear during the birth is very personal to everyone and quite often isn’t even something you can plan for.

But it’s always a nice and smart idea to put some comfy pyjamas in your overnight bag, which will at the very least be an option once you’ve given birth. You will undoubtedly be going for cosy outfits this third trimester anyway, like joggers or a night shirt with pyjama bottoms.

"But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?"

"On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. These cases are perfectly simple and easy to distinguish. In a free hour, when our power of choice is untrammelled and when nothing prevents our being able to do what we like best, every pleasure is to be welcomed and every pain avoided. But in certain circumstances and owing to the claims of duty or the obligations of business it will frequently occur that pleasures have to be repudiated and annoyances accepted. The wise man therefore always holds in these matters to this principle of selection: he rejects pleasures to secure other greater pleasures, or else he endures pains to avoid worse pains."
