Noppies Maternity Essentials

sustainability

We are aware of the impact that the fashion industry has on the world. This is why we believe that every brand should contribute to changing the industry. This begins with ourselves. By using responsibly sourced materials in our clothing items, we are taking a step in this direction. The Maternity Essentials collection features sustainable materials, and we contribute to a training program for farmers that helps them make their production more sustainable.

GOTS

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard, and is a certification system for organically grown cotton. GOTS certified  cotton by Control Union CU1000217 is grown without the use of harmful pesticides and other chemicals, making it better for both the environment and the health of the farmers who grow it.

Furthermore, a GOTS certification by Control Union CU1000217  requires that all steps in the cotton production process, from harvesting to dyeing and finishing, meet strict environmental standards and social criteria. This ensures a more sustainable production chain and fair working conditions for the workers.

LENZING ECOVERO

Lenzing Ecovero is a sustainable viscose fiber brand. Viscose is a fiber obtained from natural raw materials, such as wood pulp, and is widely used in the textile industry due to its soft and comfortable properties.

What sets Lenzing Ecovero apart from traditional viscose is that it is produced with a focus on sustainability and environmental impact. Lenzing Ecovero production has up to 50% less greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption than conventional viscose. In addition, the wood pulp used for Lenzing Ecovero comes from sustainably managed forests, and the production chain is transparent and traceable.

Recycled polyester

Recycled polyester is a sustainable alternative to traditionally produced polyester. It is made from recycled plastic bottles that are ground into small fibers and then spun into yarn. The result is a material that has the same qualities as new polyester, but is less harmful to the environment.

Using recycled polyester has several advantages. First, it reduces the amount of plastic waste that ends up in landfills or in the ocean. Because it requires less fossil fuels, it also reduces the amount of energy required to produce new polyester. Finally, it reduces the amount of water needed for production, as less water is needed to recycle plastic bottles than to make new polyester.

BCI
The Better Cotton Initiative is a special training program for farmers for making their production process more sustainable. For example, the BCI teaches them how to produce cotton using as little water, pesticides and chemicals as possible.

pass it on

We are aware that maternity fashion is fundamentally unsustainable, as you only use it for a short period of time. That's why we've made our collection so that it's easy to put together a small capsule wardrobe with items that pair very well with each other and with what's already in your closet. Each of the Maternity Essentials are made of high-quality, sturdy materials that stay beautiful. This makes it possible to continue wearing the items after your pregnancy, use them for another pregnancy, or pass them on to someone who can make good use of them.
